Speech Reception Thresholds for Polish Language Word and Sentence Tests Presented in Noise

چکیده
The aim of the study was to determine signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for Speech Reception Threshold (SRT) young persons with normal hearing. following three tests available Polish language were used: New Articulation Lists (NAL-93) version 2011, Sentence Test (PST) and Matrix (PSMT). When using PST PSMT masking signal babble noise made material contained in test. For NAL-93 speech noise. reception threshold found be (−6:8 ± 1.1), (−4:8 1.6), (−3:5 1.8) (−3:4 2.0) dB SNR PST, PSMT, (constant stimuli method) (short method), respectively. values SRT depend on semantic redundancy material. Differences statistically non-significant only method). Moreover, it shown that time needed presentation a single word list (NAL-93, short or sentence (PST, PSMT) comparable equal 2–3 minutes. most uniform obtained PST. least demanding listener, experimenter equipment.

Developing a speech intelligibility test based on measuring speech reception thresholds in noise for English and Finnish.
A subjective test was developed suitable for evaluating the effect of mobile communications devices on sentence intelligibility in background noise. Originally a total of 25 lists, each list including 16 sentences, were developed in British English and Finnish to serve as the test stimuli representative of adult language today. The sentences, produced by two male and two female speakers, were n...
متن کاملReception thresholds for sentences in quiet, continuous noise, and interrupted noise in school-age children.
Sentence recognition in noise was employed to investigate the development of temporal resolution in school-age children. Eighty children aged 6 to 15 years and 16 young adults participated. Reception thresholds for sentences (RTSs) were determined in quiet and in backgrounds of competing continuous and interrupted noise. In the noise conditions, RTSs were determined with a fixed noise level. RT...
متن کاملSpeech reception thresholds in noise with and without spectral and temporal dips for hearing-impaired and normally hearing people.
People with cochlear hearing loss often have considerable difficulty in understanding speech in the presence of background sounds. In this paper the relative importance of spectral and temporal dips in the background sounds is quantified by varying the degree to which they contain such dips. Speech reception thresholds in a 65-dB SPL noise were measured for four groups of subjects: (a) young wi...
متن کاملThe Polish Sentence Test for Speech Intelligibility Evaluations
The main purpose of this study was to prepare Polish sentence tests for measuring speech intelligibility against an interfering noise. The tests were developed from meaningful sentences taken from everyday utterances, TV, literature etc. Two sets of sentence lists were created. The first set was optimized for the so-called binary scoring and was composed of 25 lists of 20 sentences each, while ...
متن کاملStudy of an automated procedure for a Dutch sentence test for the measurement of the speech reception threshold in noise.
A procedure was developed for the automated measurement of the speech reception threshold in stationary noise (SRTn), which can be administered by the subjects themselves using a computer. The procedure was based on the SRTn test for Dutch developed by Plomp and Mimpen [(1979). "Improving the reliability of testing the speech reception threshold for sentences," Audiology, 18, 43-52]. Because in...
